How We Build

Foundations done right.

A tarmac driveway is only as good as what's underneath it. Proper foundation work is the difference between a surface that lasts two decades and one that cracks in two winters.

Excavate Strip back the existing surface to a clean, stable sub-grade — removing soft spots, roots, and debris.

Lay geotextile membrane Laid across the sub-grade to prevent weed growth and stop the sub-base mixing with the soil below.

Spread & compact sub-base 100-150mm of MOT Type 1 limestone, spread and compacted with industrial rollers to create a rigid, load-bearing foundation.

Lay the tarmac 50-75mm of hot-rolled asphalt, machine-laid and rolled smooth. Edged cleanly against kerbs and boundaries.
